Rocco Marco is born in August 1987 in Basilicata. He is graduated from University of Salerno with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic engineering and he is studying for a Master’s degree.
In 2013, he has an internship in STMicroelectronics on STM32 and ChibiOS. During this period he had the chance to explore the world of embedded systems and be part to the development team of ChibiCube, a 3D LED matrix which has been exposed as demo at the Embedded World 2014 in February 2014.
Although he was almost completely engaged with the university, in the spring of 2014 he started to contribute to NeaPolis Innovation initiatives, assisting the principal tutor during seminars about STM32 held at universities. On these occasions he realised that that learners was continuously jamming on certain well known obstacles and he decided to create video tutorials and publish them on its youtube channel.
In September 2014, after a year spent exploring the STM32 ecosystem, he was an Invited Student Tutor at NeaPolis Innovation Summer Campus 2014. This event was very inspiring to him: participants had to propose an idea and create a project based on it. On this occasion his videos proved to be very useful for educational purposes.
In the autumn 2014, after the event, Rocco Marco start to improve its videos.
Few months later joint with Salvatore Dello Iacono, they co-found PLAY Embedded:it was the 24 January 2015.
In May 2015 he won a grant titled “Borsa di studio per innovatori” form “Il Sole 24 Ore“. He started to wrote articles about innovation in Campania for the blog Nòva.
In September 2015, he was a Volunteer Student Tutor with Salvatore at NeaPolis Innovation Summer Campus 2015.
In October 2015, he was invited at Maker Faire Rome 2016 as external collaborator on the STMicroelectronics booth.
In May 2016, he started an Internship in STMicroelectronics collaborating with its Corporate External Communications division and with a divulgative blog named Pepite.
In July 2016, he and Mauro D’Ambrosi, partecipated to the event ST = life.augmented an exhibition held in Milan simultaneously to the event Class Digital Week Experience.
In September 2016, he was again a Volunteer Lead Student Tutor with Salvatore at NeaPolis Innovation Summer Campus 2016. In the same month together with Marisa Monaco they created the website of NeaPolis Innovation to promote free initiatives taken by this group.

He currently lives in near Salerno, works in STMicroelectronics as GNSS Application Engineer, is an active developer of the ChibiOS project and is Editor-in-Chief of PLAY Embedded joint with Salvatore. He has authored more than 50 articles about embedded systems and he continues to experiment with electronics and computer science.
